About Me

Throughout my life, I have loved expressing my passion and power. And as I've grown up, I've come to love, even more, teaching others to express their passion and power! For over 20 years, I've coached individuals and given communication skills trainings to corporations, government agencies and academic institutions, in the United States and abroad. This all started when I began teaching public speaking courses for the Business, Management and Legal Programs Department at UCLA Extension, where I am a "Master Teacher" (meaning I teach classroom presentation skills to new instructors). That was 23 years ago and now I can honestly say my client list reads like a Who's Who (see link above).

Actually, my career path has moved through several strata. After earning my Bachelor of Speech Science Degree from Northwestern University in Illinois, I became a professional stage actress in Chicago and New York, appearing in over 30 productions, from HAMLET to "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Butterflies Are Free."

A vacation to Los Angeles turned into a re-location, which brought with it a new career as a voice and speech teacher at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (I loved teaching and never missed acting!) and a Master of Arts Degree at California State University in Northridge. During the next few years, I taught at California State University in Long Beach while also taking lots of communication workshops and seminars for living. These impacted my life dramatically by teaching me the distinction WORKS / DOESN"T WORK and by surrounding me with passionate, powerful speakers and trainers who inspired and empowered my teaching. 

At this juncture, I veered into public speaking, UCLA Extension, the business community and became an entrepreneur. As a result of teaching and interacting with thousands of professionals at every level and from every industry, my book, Speak with Passion, Speak with Power! was born.
